Mackintosh Ties Pole Vault Record at New York Armory

(New York, N.Y.) - The Dickinson College women's track & field team turned in some outstanding individual performances at the storied Armory in New York City on Friday night.

 

Senior Ellie Mackintosh (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) tied the school record in the pole vault. She matched teammate Hannah Leahey's (Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island) record mark of 3.35 meters (10'-11.75"). Mackintosh won the event while Leahey placed second with a height of 3.20 meters.

Mackintosh added a third place finish in the long jump (5.06m) and finished sixth in the triple jump (10.63m).

 

Senior Catherine Campbell (Carlisle, Pa./Trinity) led the Red Devils to a 1-2-3 sweep in the 3,000 meters. Campbell crossed the line first in 10:07.32, followed by sophomore Anne Dyroff (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) in second (10:26.69) and Emily Miller (Lehrnartsville, Pa./Kutztown Area) in third with a time of 10:29.58.

 

The Red Devils ran to fourth in the both the distance medley relay and the 4x200 relay. First-year Olivia Schumann (Manorville, N.Y./Bishop McGann Mercy) placed fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 26.88.

 

The Red Devils placed fourth in the team standings, scoring 47 points. The College of New Jersey won the 11-team event with 81.5 points.
