Campbell Breaks School Record in 10,000 Meters

(Grantham, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's track & field team placed seventh at the Messiah Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

 

On Friday night at Bucknell, sophomore Catherine Campbell (Carlisle, Pa./Trinity) broke the school record in the 10,000 meters with a winning time of 35:58.16. Mary Hamilton (Pittsburgh, Pa./Oakland Academy) placed second in the 5000 meter event at Bucknell, crossing the line in 17:46.78.

 

On Saturday, Ellie Mackintosh (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park)won the triple jump (10.59m), placed second in the pole vault (2.95m) and cleared 4.47 meters to place sixth in the long jump.

 

Merit O'Hare (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) won the 10,000 meters at Messiah, posting a winning time of 40:14.58. Emily Lawrence (Boulder, Colo./Boulder) placed third in the event with a time of 41:23.20.

 

First-year Hannah Richardson (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) ran to a second place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.22.

 

The Red Devils are scheduled to compete at the Mason-Dixon Invitational in Gettysburg next Saturday.
