
(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's tennis team put up a solid fight against unbeaten Wilkes University, falling 6-3 to the 18-0 Colonels.
Seniors Joana Nunes (Carcavelos, Portugal/St. Julian's) and Madison Parks (Denton, Md./North Caroline) gave the Devils their first point with an 8-2 win in the top doubles flight.
Junior Lauren Altschuler (Malvern, Pa./Eastern) and first-year Olivia Shea (West Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) put the Red Devils up, 2-1, at the end of doubles, coming from behind to capture the second flight, 9-7.
The Colonels won five of the six singles flights to remain unbeaten. Nunes went 2-0 on the day, winning at #1 singles, (3-6, 6-1, 6-3).
The Red Devils return to Centennial Conference action on Wednesday, hosting Gettysburg College in another double-header with the men, starting at 4:00 pm.
