Hamilton Holds Off Women's Tennis 6-3

(Orlando, Fla.) – The Dickinson women's tennis team suffered another tough loss, falling in a tightly contested match to Hamilton College, 6-3, on Thursday in Orlando.

The Continentals held a 3-0 lead at the end of doubles, but the Red Devils battled to the end in all three flights.

Lydia Fox (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Arlington) and Jaclyn Baum (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) went the distance in the third flight before falling 8-7. The Continentals claimed the first and second flights with scores of 8-6.

Fox added a point in singles, winning the fifth flight (6-3, 6-1). Junior Lauren Altschuler (Malvern, Pa./Eastern) survived a three-set decision in the top spot with scores of 7-6, 3-6, 10-3.

Seniors Joana Nunes (Caravelos, Portugal/St. Julian's School) and Madison Parks (Denton, Md./North Caroline) played in the top doubles flight and turned in strong performance in singles at the number two and three spots.

The Red Devils slip to 0-3 on the season but have shown well in all three matches. They are in action again tomorrow, facing Illinois Wesleyan before returning from Florida.
