(Bloomsburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team turned in some strong individual performances but dropped a 152-97 decision at Division II Bloomsburg University on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) remained unbeaten in the 1000 and 500-yard freestyle events. She won her fifth straight in the 1000, posting a time of 10:41.42 and claimed her fourth 500 with a mark of 5:15.59.
Junior Katie Schmidt (Plymouth Minn./Breck School) touched the wall first in the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:00.78, adding third-place showings in the 100 and 200-backstroke events, posting marks of 1:02.66 and 2:14.45.
Junior Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) added a win in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.04.
First-year Maddi Vlattas (Herndon, Va./Westfield) turned in third-place finishes in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events while classmate Sasha Arefyev (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side) was third in the 200 and 500 freestyle.
The Red Devils slip to 4-2 on the season. They return home to host Messiah College on Tuesday, November 27 at 7:00 pm.
