(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team captured its home opener on Friday night, posting 123-82 win over visiting Bryn Mawr College.
Sophomore Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) led the way with three wins on the night. She opened with the 200-medley relay as they combined for a winning time of 1:55.78. Sternick also touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle (25.71) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.93). Sophomore Zimmy Tran (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was third in the butterfly with a time of 1:07.76.
Classmate Demetria Ruhl (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) had a triple-win night as well, capturing both distance events with a time of 11:14.38 in the 1000-yard freestyle and a mark of 5:29.33 in the 500. She led-off the winning 200 free relay as they clocked a time of 1:47.85.
First-year Madison Littlepage (Aldie, Va./John Champe) finished second in both the 500 (5:36.60) and the 1000 (11:24.95), and anchored the 200 free relay to the win.
Classmate Hannah Griffith (Lansdale, Pa./William Penn Charter) turned in a strong performance, winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.31. She was second in the 200 individual medley (2:23.32) and added another win with the 200-medley relay.
Senior Devon Korhammer (Easton, Pa./Moravian Academy) joined both winning relays and placed second in the 100-backstroke with a time of 1:04.67. Junior Shannon Bonner (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) earned wins in the 200-freestyle (2:05.16) and with the free relay, adding a second-place showing in the 100 freestyle as well (57.46).
Senior Samantha Holden (Garret Park, Md./Walter Johnson) was third in the 100-freestyle (58.24) and anchored the medley relay.
Sophomore Lindsay Robinson (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) claimed silver in the 200 individual medley (2:21.58) while Samantha Florio (Stamford, Conn./Wilton) was fourth in the IM (2:38.36) and third in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:12.10. First-year Kate Erfle (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) placed fourth in the backstroke (1:13.21).
The Red Devils are right back in action tomorrow afternoon, joining the men's team to host the University of Scranton at 1:00 pm.
