Red Devil Women Off to Strong Start at CC Championships

(Gettysburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson College women's swim team turned in some outstanding performances on the opening day of the 2012 Centennial Conference Championships at Gettysburg College.
Sophomore Carson Gannon (Morristown, N.J./Morristown Beard) was just off her own school record pace, earning First-team All-Conference honors with an individual title in the 500 freestyle, posting a time of 5:04.25 on Friday night.
Classmate Natalie Le Blanc (Westport, Conn./Staples) was on record pace, breaking her own school mark in the 200 individual medley. She clocked a time of 2:11.67 in the prelims and placed fifth in the final with a time of 2:11.74.
Le Blanc and Gannon joined with Johanna Fleming (Northampton, Mass./Northampton) and Rachel Williams (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) to place sixth in the 400 medley relay. They were just a second off the school record with a time of 4:07.13.
First-year Caroline Brennan (Madison, N.J./Madison) placed fourth in the 500 freestyle. She clocked a time of 5:11.31 in the prelims and came in at 5:09.21 in the final.
The Red Devils are currently fifth in the team standings with 142 points. Franklin & Marshall leads with 192 points with Gettysburg holding off Ursinus, 173.5-172. Swarthmore is in fifth with 152.
Competition continues tomorrow with sessions in the morning and evening, and concludes on Sunday.
