Bears Strike Early in OT to Top Red Devils 2-1

(Collegeville, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker in Collegeville, falling in overtime at Ursinus College on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils struck early, scoring just over five minutes into the match. Sophomore Ally Diez (Rockville Center, N.Y./South Side) netted her fourth goal of the season, finishing an assist from junior Addy Zandi (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson).

The Bears would pull even in the 54th minute, capitalizing on a corner with Zoe Tesone heading in a serve from Rachel Burcaw into the net on the far post.

The teams remained tied throughout the remainder of regulation, but the overtime wouldn't last long as Ursinus struck quickly, scoring the game-winner just 30 seconds into the extra frame

Angela Gervasi finished an assist from Avery Webster to give the Bears the win.

The Red Devils outshot the Bears, 13-6, and held a 5-3 advantage in corners for the match. Sabrina Doherty tallied five saves for Ursinus while senior Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) was forced to make just one save.

The Red Devils slip to 6-2-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to face Johns Hopkins University on Wednesday evening at 5:00 pm.
