(Bryn Mawr, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team struck twice in the second half to post a 2-0 shutout at Bryn Mawr College on Wednesday afternoon.
The Owls spent the better part of the first half in their defensive half of the field, but held strong, keeping the match level, 0-0.
The Red Devils forced six corners in the opening half and outshot the host Owls, 9-0, before the break.
Dickinson kept the pressure on in the second, but the Owls continued to challenge as well.
Briona Davis (Franklin Park, N.J./Franklin) hit a shot off the crossbar with just over 32 minutes to play in regulation and had another strong attempt turned away by Bryn Mawr goaltender Leah Baer.
The Red Devils broke into the scoring column on a penalty kick from Rachel Lazris (Ellicott City, Md./Wilde Lake) in the 62nd minute.
Sophomore Addy Zandi (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) tallied again, just under four minutes later to double-up the Owls, 2-0.
The Red Devils finished with a 23-2 advantage in shots and forced 12 corners on the offensive end of the field.
Bear finished with 11 saves as Bryn Mawr slips to 0-10 on the season and 0-5 in the Centennial Conference.
Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) turned away a pair of shots to earn her sixth shutout of the season.
The Red Devils improve to 9-3-1 overall and move to 3-2-1 in the conference. They return home to face Ursinus College on Saturday at Miller Memorial Field. Opening kick-off is set for 1:00 pm.
