(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team rallied from a 1-0 deficit to overtake Washington College for a 3-1 win on homecoming weekend at Miller Memorial Field on Saturday.
Washington put a goal in the board in the 34th minute as Arianna Sabatino finished an assist from Olivia Sabatino and held the lead for the remainder of the first half.
The Red Devils stuck quickly after the break with first-year Tara Dedrickson (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) finding the net, just five minutes into the second half to level the match, 1-1.
Dickinson pulled in front in the 59th minute as first-year Ally Diez (Rockville Center, N.Y./South Side) tallied her first collegiate goal, scoring off an assist from junior Briona Davis (Franklin Park, N.J./Franklin).
Junior Samantha Knapp (Washington, D.C./CESJDS) broke free and scored unassisted with 9:53 remaining in regulation to give the Red Devils some insurance down the stretch.
The Red Devils outshot the Shorewomen, 17-10, and held a 9-2 advantage on corners for the match. Annalie Buscarino made six saves for Washington as they fall to 6-6 overall and 1-4 in the Centennial Conference.
Junior Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) tallied five saves as the Red Devils improve to 8-3-1 on the season and 2-2-1 in the conference.
The Red Devils are on the road on Wednesday, traveling to Bryn Mawr College for a 4:00 pm kick-off.
