Red Devil Women Suffer 2-1 Setback in Season Finale

 

 

(Westminster, Md.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team traded goals with host McDaniel College on Saturday but the Green Terror struck last in a 2-1 win, eliminating the Red Devils from playoff contention.

 

The Terror struck first as Sam Wilson scored on an assist from Julia Pope, in the 30th minute. The Red Devils pulled even in the second half on an unassisted goal by senior Rosalin Savoie (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) in the 55th minute.

 

Pope answered, just six minutes later, finishing an assist from Maggie Quinn.

 

The Red Devils outshot the Green Terror, 17-9, putting seven shots on goal. Haley Jacobs made five saves for McDaniel.

 

Sophomore Charlotte Armour (New Haven, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) made a pair of saves in the nets for Dickinson.

 

McDaniel improves to 13-5 overall and 6-4 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils finish 8-7-2 overall and 4-4-2 in the conference.
