Devils Strike Early to Turn Back Terror 2-0

(Carlisle, Pa.)- The Dickinson College women's soccer team scored a pair of first half goals to post a 2-0 win over visiting McDaniel College on Wednesday afternoon.

 

Ashley Kunkle (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) put the Devils on the board, scoring off a corner with an assist from senior Courtney Anderson (S. Pasadena, Calif./S. Pasadena) in the 14th minute.

 

Senior Sara White (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) fed a beautiful through ball to first-year Hannah Richardson (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) to put the Devils in front 2-0 just over three minutes later.

 

The Red Devils turned in a dominant performance, holding a 36-1 advantage in shots and forced 12 corners while allowing just one on the defensive end.

 

Kailyn Hartmann (Darien, Conn./St. Luke's) made one save to earn her fourth shutout of the season.

 

Leanne Hollinger made some outstanding plays in goal for McDaniel. She finished with 22 saves on the day.

 

The Red Devils improve to 10-2 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial Conference. They are home again on Saturday, hosting Bryn Mawr College at 1:00 pm.
