Red Devils Finish Strong for 15-9 Win

(Swarthmore, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's lacrosse team had a strong second half, outscoring Swarthmore College 10-5 after the break for a 15-9 Centennial Conference win on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils jumped out to a 5-0 lead as Anne Dunster (Cos Cobb, Conn./Greenwich) and Eleanor Kaestner (Glyndon, Md./Franklin) each scored twice in the opening run.

Swarthmore answered with four straight to cut the deficit to just a goal at the break.

Swarthmore tallied twice to open the second half and pull in front before first-year Mack Maurer (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) fed Ashley Conner (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) and then scored to put Dickinson back on top, 7-6.

The Garnet pulled even again at 8-8, but the Red Devils would finish with a 7-1 run to close out the game. First-year Erika Bloes (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) scored three straight for a natural hat-trick while Dunster scored back-to-back to finish with four goals.

Bloes found the net five times and had an assist. Dunster pulled in three draw controls while Maddie Parker (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) controlled three as well. McKenzie Rambusch (Madison, N.J./Madison) added four draw controls on the day.

Avery Priest (San Rafael, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep) made one save while AJ Johns (Hamden, Conn./Sacred Heart) came to make a pair and earn the win in the nets.

The Red Devils improve to 6-6 overall and 2-3 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to face #2-ranked Gettysburg College on Wednesday evening at 5:00 pm.
