(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's lacrosse team improved to 5-0 in the Centennial Conference, posting a 15-8 win over visiting Swarthmore College on Friday night at Biddle Field.
The Red Devils took an early lead as senior Maddy Siebold (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) buried a pair free position attempts to put Dickinson up, 2-0.
The Devils stretched the lead to 4-0 before Tess Wild handed out an assist and converted a free position to cut the deficit to 4-2. Eleanor Kaestner (Glyndon, Md./Franklin) tallied her second of the game for a 5-2 advantage.
Senior Talene Bush (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) countered a Swarthmore goal with a free position to give Dickinson a 6-3 lead at halftime.
Siebold struck back-to-back to start the second as well before Briana Narzikul handed out an assist and scored to make the score 8-5, with 15:49 remaining.
Kaestner went to work, scoring a natural hat-trick to extend the lead to 11-5. Tara Cassidy () grabbed a draw control and fed a beautiful pass to Kaestner for her sixth goal of the game, stretching the margin to 13-6.
Anne Dunster (Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich) handed out assists to Siebold and Bush for the final tally of 15-8.
Kaestner scored six goals on eight shots while Siebold finished with five on the night. Dunster scored once and handed out four assists. Tara Cuddihy (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) made eight saves and was outstanding outside the crease, causing four turnovers and controlling six ground balls.
Swarthmore slips to 7-5 overall and 1-4 in the conference. The Red Devils improve to 8-4 and 5-0 in conference play. They travel to #3-ranked Gettysburg College on Wednesday to square-off with the Bullets at 4:00 pm.
