Three Red Devils Earn All-Centennial Women's Lacrosse Honors
(Carlisle, Pa) – The Dickinson College women's lacrosse team earned three spots on the All-Centennial Conference team. Senior Sunnie Ko (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) and first-year Brett Whelan (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) were named to the Second-team while senior goaltender Jessie Clark (Devon, Pa./Conestoga) earned Honorable mention.
Ko was second on the team in scoring with 22 goals and nine assists. She caused a team-best 23 turnovers, and ranked second in both draw controls (27) and ground balls (28). Ko scored 132 points in her career, scoring 97 goals and dishing out 35 assists. She recorded 154 draws, caused 66 turnovers and picked up 96 GBs.
Ko earned Second-team honors in the 2009 as well, and earned Honorable mention last season. She ranks 11th in career points with 132, and ranks 12th in both goals and assists with 97 and 35, respectively. She is third all-time at Dickinson with 154 career draw controls, and is tied for eighth with 66 caused turnovers. She went over the century mark with 101 ground balls.
Whelan led the Devils with 33 draw controls and 30 ground balls in her rookie campaign. She played a key role in the midfield transition, helping the Red Devils to just under an 80 percent success rate on clears. She handed out a pair of assists and reached double-figures with 12 caused turnovers on the season.
Clark earns her second selection, earning Honorable mention in 2010 as well. She recorded 119 saves this season and was third on the team with 23 ground balls. She was active in and outside of the crease, recording 12 take-aways in the Red Devil net. Clark ranked third in the conference with a .490 save percentage, playing in 17 games.
She ranks second all-time at Dickinson in career saves with 566 and finishes tied for fifth in save percentage at .515. (566 saves, 553 goals against). She went over the century mark with 103 ground balls.
The Red Devils finished 7-10 overall and 4-4 in the conference, winning three of their last four games.
