Dickinson Invitational Information

Big Spring High School

Grass course with rolling hills at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa. (10 miles south of Carlisle on Route 641 (Newville Road). Each 1K will be marked. Men's and women's long course includes a 1,000 meter flat loop before the standard 5k course. The men's 8K course includes a closing 2,000 meter loop.

Viewing Course:

Tours of the course should be self-directed utilizing a map of the course. A representative from Dickinson will be available to answer questions. 

$125.00 per team, (men or women) for all USTFCCA members. $150.00 per team for all NON-USTFCCCA members. Entry fee Payable no later than Race Day by cash or check. You DO NOT have to designate your long or short course entries.

Please submit entries no later than 11:59 pm, Monday, September 19th. For Team both and Individual entries, click here. Please DO NOT use the on-line paypal feature to submit entry fee. Entry fee will be collected on-site the day of the event or by check in advance.

Numbers:

Race numbers must be pinned to the front of the singlet. Please do not pin the tag.

Trainers:

Dickinson College trainers will be available at the meet by 9 am.

Splits:

Will be given at the 1 mile, 2 mile and 3 mile (men) marks.

Drink:

Ice Water and Gatorade will be available at the meet site.

Scoring:

This two course format will use a combined score from both races to calculate overall team standings. A minimum of 3 athletes must finish in each race to be scored as a team. The first 3 runners from each team will score and the 4th and 5th runners will displace. All other runners will not count toward the team scoring. Unlimited entries will be permitted in each race but runners can only run one race. Pre-race designation is not necessary. Final declarations of your athletes in the race of choice will be made at the starting line.

Awards:

Team awards for the top 3 team combined scores, top team in each race; and 10 individual awards in each race.

Results:

Official results, team trophies, and individual awards will be awarded 30 min after the final race.

Restrooms:

Port-a-johns will be available at the course in addition to restroom facilities.

Parking:

Parking is available at the High School.

Packets:

Packets will be available for pick-up at the tent located near the HS.
