Red Devils Claim Third at CC Championship

(Gettysburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's cross country team ran to third place at the 2017 Centennial Conference Championships at Gettysburg College on Sunday morning.

Sophomore Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) earned First-team All-Conference honors, placing seventh overall while junior Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) finished ninth to claim Second-team recognition.

Descavish, who was last year's Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year, crossed the line in 25:47 with Herrmann coming in with a mark of 25:51.

Junior Duncan Hopkins (Lancaster, Pa./JP McCaskey) added a top-20 finish with a time of 26:21 while classmate Will Chandler (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) placed 25th in time of 26:46. Senior Nathan Udell (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) was just seconds behind, coming across 27th.

Haverford captured the team title, claiming the top three spots in the race, led by individual champion, Henry Woods, who clocked a time of 25:12.

Dickinson will compete at the NCAA Mideast Regionals on November 11. The Red Devils will host the regional at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa.
