Red Devil Men Capture Titles at Slippery Rock Invitational
(Coopers Lake, Pa.) – The Dickinson College men's cross country team captured the team title at the Slippery Rock Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Devils traveled west to compete on the course that will host the NCAA Mideast Regional later this season. The Devils scored 23 points to better second place Elizabethtown, who combined for 68 on the day.
Senior Brian Krusell (Newington, Conn./Newington) led the way, winning the individual title in a time of 25:45, finishing just ahead of teammate Kent Pecora (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill), who crossed the line with a time of 25:49.
The Red Devils placed five runners in the top 10 and seven in the top 15. Junior Dylan Straughan (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) finished fourth (25:56) while senior Michael Tarkoff (Warrington, Pa./C.B. South) came in seventh at 26:01 and first-year Henry Mynatt (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) placed ninth with a time of 26:07.
Junior David Breen (Bolton, Mass./Nashoba Regional) and first-year Omar Hyjek (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) placed 11th and 13th, respectively, with times of 26:12 and 26:15.
The Red Devils, ranked 18th nationally in the USTFCCCA weekly poll, are scheduled to compete at the DeSales University Invitational next Saturday.
