Michael Murphy '20 (West Pittston, PA)

Major: Neuroscience, Health Studies Certificate

Internship: Summer Research Intern, in Nemours Summer Undergraduate Research Program (NSURP) at DuPont Hospital for Children (Wilmington, DE)

Why Michael chose this internship: I chose this internship because of its potential to make healthcare more efficient using telemedicine. My research project is looking at how telemedicine could save both families and the hospital time, money, and resources by preventing unnecessary transfers to the emergency room.

Ryan Murphy '20 (West Pittston, PA)

Major: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology | Minor: Spanish

Internship: Rotational Intern, at UPMC Pinnacle Community Osteopathic Hospital (Harrisburg, PA)

Why Ryan chose this internship: I chose this internship because it's a great way to see whether medicine is the right career for me. Many medical schools don't necessarily require students to have clinical experience prior to their training, but I find it important since the reality of medicine is different from what many people think it is. It's invaluable to see medicine hands-on for an extended period of time prior to applying to medical school.

Zach Popkin '19 (Washington, D.C.)

Major: Economics

Internship: Coach at Junior Wizards Camp for Monumental Sports Network, at AU Bender Arena and The Park School (Baltimore, MD)

Why Zach chose this internship: I chose this internship because this summer I wanted to get involved in sports and Monumental Network is the perfect place for this in the Washington, D.C. area. I have coached basketball my whole life, so teaching kids for an organization like Monumental is perfect. I will be treasurer of the Red Devils Sports Network (RDSN) this fall, so working Monumental gets me prepared for the upcoming year and for after I graduate.

Abdullah 'Aboody' Rumman '20 (Bahria Town Rawalpindi, Pakistan)

Major: Economics

Internship: Summer Analyst Intern, at Frederic W. Cook & Company, Inc. (New York, NY)

Why Aboody chose this internship: I chose this internship because this is a prestigious firm. It's a great opportunity in my rising junior year. It gives me good career prospects, and experience living on my own in the city.
