(Gettysburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's track & field team placed third at the Mason-Dixon Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday.
Michael Murphy (West Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) had a top-10 finish in 100 meter dash, finishing eighth and crossed the line 11th in the 200. Garrett Randall (Gwynn Oak, Md./Loyola Blakefield) finished eighth in the 200.
Senior Matt Persick (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Henderson) won the 3000-meter steeplechase while Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) won the mile and Ethan Burg (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) crossed the line first in the 10,000.
The Red Devils had another dominant performance in the pole vault, sweeping the top three spots. First-year Kacper Rzempoluch (Princeton, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro North) cleared the bar at 4.50 meters to win the event while Adam Gamber (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) placed second at 4.20 and first-year Gavin Wood (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) claimed third with a height of 3.75 meters.
Senior Devin Glasson (Canton, Conn./Canton) threw the shot put 14.67 meters to finish second while Robert Pearl (Sea Ranch Lakes, Fla./Pine Crest) was seventh. Glasson finished fifth in the discus and added another silver in the hammer throw.
Penn State Harrisburg outscored Gettysburg 118-114 to capture the team title with the Red Devils scoring 111. Dickinson will compete at the Penn Relays in Thursday and Friday before heading to the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Tune Up on Saturday.
