(Gettysburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's track & field team placed third at the Mason-Dixon Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday.
The Red Devils captured first in two distance events as Kyle Fitch (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) won the 10,000-meters with a time of 34:26.52 and first-year Bryce Descavish (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) crossed the line ahead of the field in the 3,000 with a mark of 10:04.42.
Senior Devin Glasson (Canton, Conn./Canton) claimed silver in the shot put and bronze in the discus with throws of 12.50 and 40.19 meters. Brock Hartman (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) and Francisco Villarreal (Carson, Calif./Carson) were third and sixth in the shot put.
Marcus Robinson (Bowie, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) clocked a time of 11.48 to place second in the 100 meters. Ryan Murphy (W. Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) was sixth in the 100 and seventh in the 200 while both joined the fourth place 4x100 relay. Robinson finished fifth with the 4x400 relay.
Michael Murphy (W. Pittston, Pa./Wyoming Area) and Conor Beaupre (Meriden, N.H./Kimball Union Academy) joined the 4x100 relay while Beaupre added a top 10 showing on the long jump and placed second in the triple with a distance of 12.62 meters.
The Red Devils placed both third and fifth in the 4x400 relay. Billy Dougherty (Mt. Lebanon, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) led off the relay and ran to sixth in the mile, followed by Matthew Loalbo (Hamden, Conn./Hamden), placing seventh in the mile.
Sophomore Matthew Trang (Altadena, Calif./John Marshall Fundamental) anchored the fifth place relay, also placing sixth in the 200 and seventh in the 400-meters. Will Chandler (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) and Eli Laue (Troy, Pa./Troy) ran the other two legs of the relay.
The Red Devils had more strong showings in the throwing events as Robert Pearl (Sea Ranch Lakes, Fla./Pine Crest) finished fourth in the hammer throw while Hugh Downs (Narberth, Pa./Harriton) claimed fifth in the javelin.
The Red Devils are scheduled to compete in the Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday.
