Red Devil Men Honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team

 

 

(New Orleans, La.) - Dickinson College was honored as one of 64 schools recognized as a U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association Division III All-Academic Track & Field Team. This distiction is a result of a combined team grade-point-average of 3.10 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

 

The Centennial Conference was well represented, placing five teams on the list. Senior Brian Krusell '11 (Newington, Conn./Newington) also earned individual All-Academic honors, which were announced last week.

 

The Red Devil men turned in some outstanding individual performances this year, capped by an NCAA National Championship in the 3000 meter steeplechase for senior Kent Pecora '11 (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill). Dickinson used an overall team effort to capture a second consecutive Centennial Conference title in outdoor track & field.

 

Dickinson placed nine men on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for both indoor and outdoor track & field in 2011. In order to be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a minimum, cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.40 and participate in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions or compete at the conference championships.
