Shoremen Post 6-3 Decision Over Red Devils

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback to visiting Washington College on Saturday afternoon. The Red Devils honored seniors Shawn Diniz (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands), Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) and Nick Reese (Mt. Lebanon, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) before the match, honoring their four years with the program.

Junior Derek Chen (Cranbury Township, Pa./Cranbury Township) and Peter Schmidt (Morris Plains, N.J./Laurel Springs) put the Devils on the scoreboard, winning the second doubles flight 8-4.

Schmidt earned his second point of the day, capturing second singles (7-5, 7-6 (7-2)). First-year Joey Bolanos (San Salvador, El Salvador/Escuela Americans) claimed the Devils' third point with a 6-2, 6-4 win the fifth flight.

The Red Devils slip to 7-7 overall and 1-5 in the Centennial Conference. They are scheduled to travel to Gettysburg College for a 4:00 pm match on Wednesday afternoon.
