(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team suffered an 8-1 setback in the regular season finale, falling to Franklin & Marshall, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon.
First-year Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) earned the lone point for the Red Devils, battling to a (6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4)) decision in the sixth singles flight.
Three singles matches went three sets on the day. Doug Kaplan held off first-year Clark Chapman (Princeton, N.J./Montgomery) (6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-3)), while Nolan Bacchieri survived the third flight against Steven Kaplan (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham) (705, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8)).
Josh Kaseff (Westport, Conn./Staples) played a strong match in the fifth flight, suffering a (6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) setback.
Kaplan and Chapman played a strong doubles match in the second flight as well, but dropped an 8-6 decision.
The Red Devils come away just shy of making the Centennial Conference tournament. They finish 6-10 overall and 4-5 in the conference.
