Red Devils Drop Tough 5-4 Decision to Shoremen

(Carlisle, Pa.) - Dickinson men's tennis dropped a heartbreaker to Washington College on Saturday afternoon for Red & White Day at Hayes Courts.

The Red Devils took two of three doubles matches to start the day with positive momentum.

Dickinson's first doubles duo Erik Dinardo (Carlisle, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) and Clark Chapman (Princeton, N.J./Montgomery) took a 9-7 decision.

Josh Kaseff (Westport, Conn./Staples) and Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) lost a close 9-7 battle in second doubles, but third doubles pair Ari Blask (Chevy Chase, Md./Charles E. Smith) and Steven Kaplan (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) grabbed the upper hand after cruising to the 8-3 win.

The Shoremen would take ownership of four singles matches to secure the close Cenntennial Conference win.

For Dickinson, Blask earned a defiant 6-2, 6-3 win in the first singles flight. Kaseff had an impressive afternoon as well with a 6-1, 7-5 victory in the sixth flight.

Next Tuesday (Apr. 15) Coach London and the Red Devils head south on route-83 for a non-conference matchup with Division I opponent Loyola University.

First serves are set for 3:30 pm in Baltimore.
