Bears Slip Past Devil Men 5-4

(Collegeville, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team dropped a heartbreaker at Ursinus, falling 5-4 on Saturday afternoon.


The Red Devils led after doubles, winning the first and third flights. Will Golinkin (Houston, Texas/Kincaid) and Chris Mueller-Wolf (Hamburg, Germany/Pennington School, N.Y.) won the point in the top doubles flight, 8-3. Mueller-Wolf added a win the third singles match as well.


Jon Brittin (McLean, Va./Landon) and Hunter Dewing-Hommes (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) earned the point in the third flight with an 8-3 decision.


Erik DiNardo (Carlisle, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) claimed the last point for the Devils, winning fifth singles, (6-1, 6-3). Junior Ari Blask (Chevy Chase, Md./Charles E. Smith) rallied in the second set to force a tie-breaker before falling in the second flight.


DiNardo joined Joey Frank (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Boca Raton) to rally from a 5-2 deficit before the Bears claimed the match, 8-6.


The Red Devils slip to 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to McDaniel College on Tuesday for a 3:30 pm match.
