Golinkin Battles in Marathon Match, Devils Fall at Swarthmore

(Swarthmore, Pa.) – The Dickinson College men's team suffered a 9-0 loss at Swarthmore on Saturday afternoon.


Junior Will Golinkin (Houston, Texas/Kincaid) turned in a valiant effort in the top singles flight. He captured the first set, 6-2, before falling 6-4 in the second. He battled with Zak Kelm through a furious tie-breaker, falling in the end of a marathon, 18-16.


Jonathan Brittin (McLean, Va./Landon) and David London (Chevy Chase, Md./Maret School) put up a fight in doubles, but suffered an 8-5 setback. Dixon Blue (Westminster, Md./McDonogh) turned in a strong match in the third singles flight, falling 6-4, 6-1.


Swarthmore improves to 11-9 overall and 5-2 in the Centennial Conference. The Devils fall to 7-7 overall and 3-4 in the conference. They return home to face Muhlenberg College at 3:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon.
