Devils Blank Westminster, Fall to Spring Arbor in Hilton Head
(Hilton Head, S.C.) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team swept Westminster College of Missouri, 9-0 on Thursday and suffered a 6-3 setback to Spring Arbor University on Friday to close out its spring break schedule.
The Red Devils posted doubles scores of 8-3, 8-6 and 8-1 to take a 3-0 lead on Westminster. They swept all six singles flights in straight sets to raise their season record to 2-2.
On Friday, Spring Arbor claimed 4-of-6 singles matches to secure a 6-3 win as they improved to 17-1 on the season. Senior David London (Chevy Chase, Md./Maret School) won four points, claiming the sixth singles flight matches and third doubles on Thursday and Friday.
First-year Franco Mena (Azcunaga Quito, Ecuador) posted an 8-6 win in the third singles flight for the Devils' third point against Spring Arbor. He earned a 6-3, 6-2 decision on Thursday in the third singles flight and joined Will Golinkin (Houston, Texas/Kincaid) for a win in the top doubles flight against Westminster.
The Red Devils stand at 2-3 on the season. They return north to open Centennial Conference play at Ursinus College on March 24th.
