First-Years Fare Well in Spring Opener

(York, Pa.) - The Dickinson College men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback to Christopher Newport, ranked 12th in the Atlantic South Region, in the Devils' spring opener on Thursday.

 

The Red Devils were led by first-years Will Golinkin (Houston, Texas/Kincade) and Chris Mueller-Wolf (Hamburg, Germany/Pennington School, N.Y.), who earned both Devil points in singles.

 

Golinkin captured the third singles flight, 6-4, 7-5 while Mueller-Wolf held on in the sixth flight 6-3, 0-6, 10-8.

 

Ross Ansteatt (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier Twp.) and Hunter Holbrook (New York, N.Y./Trevor Day School) battled in the top doubles spot, falling 8-5.

 

The Red Devils (2-2) return to action on March 15th in Hilton Head, South Carolina when they face St. Norbet College at 12:00 pm.
