(Gettysburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team placed third at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday. The Bullets outlasted Mary Washington, 1087-895, to claim the team title. The Red Devils finished with 587 points while Susquehanna combined for 463
The Red Devils had a strong start in the morning session, placing fourth, eighth and 10th in the 800-free relay. Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friends' Central) led-off the fourth-place relay and placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-individual medley with times of 52.32 and 1:57.51. He placed fifth as the anchor on the 200-free relay.
Senior Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) was seventh in the 100-yard butterfly while Ben Shoul (Hanover, Pa./Southwestern) placed ninth. They combined with first-year Damon St. Prix (Barbados/Peddie School, N.J.) to complete the 200-free relay. St. Prix and Shoul went 10-11 in the 50-freestyle.
Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./Pennington School) placed second in the 400-individual medley (4:12.01) and third in the 200 IM. Liam Pauli (Delran, N.J./Delran) was 10th in the individual medley and placed fourth in the 100-backstroke.
First-year Logan Cort (Brookeville, Md./Mercersburg) joined the fourth-place relay and finished seventh in the 100-freestyle. Tyler Catania (Spotswood, N.J./St. Joseph) and St. Prix were 10th and 11th in the 100-free. In the evening session, Cort was fourth in the 500-freestyle (4:49.23).
Junior Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) anchored the free relay and placed ninth in the 500-freestyle and Cameron McConagha (Broadlands, Va./Briar Woods) placed seventh in the 110-breaststroke.
The Red Devils added a third-place finish in the 400-medley relay with a time of 3:38.16.
The Red Devils are off for the remainder of the semester. They return to action in Florida on January 8, competing in the CM IM Challenge in Ft. Lauderdale.
