Red Devils Celebrate Senior Day in Home Finale

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team celebrated senior day but suffered a 121-83 setback to visiting Swarthmore College on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) captured one of the Red Devils' two individual wins, touching the wall first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:01.89. He claimed second in the 200 freestyle (1:49.20) and joined the 200 free relay for a second-place finish.

Junior Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:59.08 and placed second with the 400 medley relay (3:41.18).

Three seniors were part of the medley relay as Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick), Jake Beley (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) and Allen Belo (Odenton, Md./Severn School) joined Jordan to start off the meet.

Beard added a third-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.45) while Beley claimed bronze in the 200 backstroke (2:04.62). Belo swam to fourth in the 50 free and anchored the 200 free relay to a win with a mark of 1:29.96.

First-year Liam Pauli (Delran, N.J./Delran) was second in the 200 back (2:04.44) while sophomore Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./Pennington School) captured second in the breaststroke and added another silver with a time of 55.22 in the 100 individual medley.

Senior Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) picked up a pair of second-place finishes in the distance events, clocking a time of 10:12.10 in the 1000 freestyle and 4:56.29 in the 500.

Tyler Catania (Spotswood, N.J./St. Joseph) and Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friends' Central) went two-three in the 100 freestyle, coming in at 50.24 and 50.34, respectively. They both added a win with the free relay as well.

The Red Devils slip to 6-7 overall and 1-5 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to the CC Championships on February 22-25, at Franklin & Marshall.
