Strong Finish Carries Bullets Past Red Devils

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team had a strong showing against visiting Gettysburg College on Wednesday night, but the Bullets had a strong finish to claim the win, 114-90.

Sophomore Will Freeman (Haddonfield, N.J./The Pennington School) had a solid night, winning the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:58.89, and placing second in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.87) and with the 200 medley relay. Senior Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) came in first in the breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:01.31.

Junior Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) joined the medley relay and won the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.72. He led-off the 200 free relay as well, placing third with a mark of 1:32.06.

Sophomore Graham Novitch (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) won the 100 backstroke (55.37), placed second in the 200 individual medley (4:31.35) and third as the anchor for the 200 free relay. First-year Liam Pauli (Delran, N.J./Delran) won the 400 IM (4:31.35) and was third in the backstroke (56.42).

Senior Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) picked up another win in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:13.03) and touched the wall third in the 500 freestyle with mark of 4:58.93.

Junior Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friend's Central) anchored the medley relay, and added second-place showings in the 50 freestyle (22.05) and the 100 butterfly (53.98).

Tyler Catania (Spotswood, N.J./St. Joseph) was second in the 200 freestyle (1:50.29) and joined the medley relay while Jake Beley (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) swam the lead leg of the medley relay as they clocked a time of 1:41.18.

The Red Devils slip to 6-6 overall and 1-4 in the Centennial Conference. They are home again on Saturday, hosting Swarthmore College at 1:00 pm.
