(Scranton, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swimming team posted a, 128-77 win, at the University of Scranton on Saturday afternoon. Senior Jason Adams (Kingston, Jamaica/Kent School) led the way with a triple-win, breaking the pool record in the 100 butterfly.
Adams clocked a time of 53.23 in the butterfly, adding a win in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.47. He swam the lead leg of the winning 400 medley relay that clocked a time of 3:40.07. Classmate Chris Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) claimed three events as well. He won the 100 freestyle (1:50.44) and the 100 yard backstroke (56.73), and joined the winning 400 free relay.
First-year Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) swam the anchor leg of the winning free relay as they posted a time of 3:20.08. He garnered his first collegiate triple-win, touching the wall first in the distance events. He clocked a time of 10:25.70 in the 1000 and finished in 5:03.98 to take the 500 freestyle.
Senior Michael Mason (Richmond, Va./Collegiate School) placed second in both the 1000 and 500 freestyle events, posting times of 10:59.60 and 5:21.28. The Red Devils swept the 500 as first-year Brendan Walsh (Chelmsford, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover) placed third with a time of 5:22.74.
Senior Brandon Gauthier (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) anchored the winning medley relay and added a second win in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:04.15. Classmate Cris Miranda (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) was part of the medley relay as well, and placed third in the individual medley, finishing in 2:11.11.
The Red Devils even their record at 1-1 on the season. They return to Carlisle for their home opener next Friday night when they host Bloomsburg University on Friday night at 6:00 pm.
