Devil Men Set Pool Medley Relay Record at York
(York, Pa.) – The Dickinson College men's swim team picked up a pair of wins on Saturday, defeating host York College and St. Mary's of Maryland. The Devils suffered a setback to Susquehanna as they improve to 3-1 on the season. The Devils scored a 142-62 win over St. Mary's and topped York 129-79. Susquehanna held off the Devils 115-90.
The Devils started strong, setting a pool record in the 400 medley relay. The Devils won the event with a record time of 3:39.20.First-year Jason Adams (Kingston, Jamaica/Kent School, Conn.) swam the lead leg and added a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:01.53). Classmate Cris Miranda (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) joined the medley relay and also captured the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.15.
Sophomore Ed Barnard (Springfield, Pa./Haverford School) swam the second leg of the medley relay. He added third place showings in the 50 freestyle (22.55) and the 200 breaststroke (2:19.96).
First-year Brandon Gauthier (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) swam the anchor leg of the medley relay and also swam the anchor of the 200 free relay that finished second with a time of 1:29.35.
Senior Andrew Wade (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) earned points with three second-place showings on the day. He clocked times of 22.47 and 49.39 in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, and swam the lead leg of the free relay.
The Red Devils return home to face Ursinus College on December 4th at 2:00 pm.
