Late Goals Lead Men's Soccer to Overtime Draw

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team scored in the 83rd minute but visiting Muhlenberg answered in the 84th to force overtime as the teams played to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night at Miller Memorial Field.

Junior Ward Van de Water (Warrenton, Va./Highland) put the Devils on the board with just 7:36 to play in regulation, but the celebration was short-lived as Muhlenberg countered at the 6:07 mark with Victor Jacobs tying the match with assists from Shaun Bartholomew and Anthony Carracino.

The teams combined to produce just seven shots in the opening half with Muhlenberg holding a 4-3 edge. The Red Devils outshot the Mules, 7-3, in the second half and 5-2 through overtime.

Jordan Schreer finished with nine saves in the nets for Muhlenberg. Sophomore Frederick Meagher (Southport, Conn./Fairfield-Ludlowe) turned away four shots for the Red Devils.

Muhlenberg moves to 4-8-2 overall and 1-4-2 in the Centennial Conference. Dickinson stands at 9-4-2 on the season and 3-2-2 in conference play. The Red Devils are home again on Saturday, hosting Haverford College at 4:00 pm.
