(Grantham, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback at #16-ranked Messiah College on Wednesday night.
The Falcons struck twice in each half as Danny Brandt handed out a pair of assists on the night. Messiah scored in the 18th minute as Brandt fed Colby Thomas with a nice through ball to put the hosts on the board.
The Falcons went up 2-0 in the 41st minute as Brit Haseltine finished an assist from David Alejos, right before the end of the half. Brandt served his second assist of the night, just four minutes after the break, feeding Kirby Robbins to stretch the margin to 3-0.
Messiah closed things out in the 64th minute on an unassisted tally from Nick West.
First-year goaltender John Baney (Ridgewood, N.J./Montclair Kimberly Academy) made six saves for the Red Devils as the Falcons held a 20-6 advantage in shots and an 11-2 edge in corners.
Messiah improves to 4-1 on the season while the Red Devils slip to 3-2. Dickinson opens Centennial Conference play on the road on Saturday, traveling to Swarthmore College for a 4:00 pm kick-off.
