(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team moved up to 13th on the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III national soccer poll. The Red Devils were ranked 21st last week, and improved to 6-0 on the season with a 3-0 win over Washington College in their Centennial Conference opener on Saturday.
The Red Devils are also second in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region rankings, behind nationally #5-ranked Messiah College. The Devils travel to Messiah this afternoon for a regional showdown in Grantham. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
The women's cross country team moved up three spots, ranking 13th in the nation in the U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association poll. The Red Devil men and women's teams traveled to the University of Rochester to square-off against some of the top teams from the Atlantic Region, and placed third overall. The Dickinson women, ranked second in the Mideast Region, finished behind Division I Cornell University and #6-ranked St. Lawrence University.
The Red Devil men also had a strong showing at the Yellowjacket Invitational, running to fourth place overall, with Cornell capturing the team title in the men's race as well. #4-ranked SUNY Geneseo placed second with top-20 host, Rochester, placing third, edging the Red Devils by just two points. The Dickinson men improved one spot, ranking 20th, nationally, and hold their #3-spot in the region.
The Red Devils cross country teams are both idle this weekend as they prepare to host the Dickinson Long Course/Short Course Invitational on September 29th at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa.
