Three Devils Earn All-Centennial Men's Soccer Honors

Complete All-Conference Team

(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson College men's soccer team had three players named to the All-Centennial Conference Team, announced on Wednesday. Senior captain Taylor Ferry (Wnydmoor, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) was named to the First-team along with sophomore midfielder Javier Mena (San Salvador, El Salvador/The American School). Junior goaltender Cody Hickok (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) earned his second All-CC recognition, earning honorable mention.

Ferry makes his second straight appearance as a First-team selection. Ferry had another outstanding season, anchoring the Red Devil defense to eight shutouts on the year and a 0.84 goals-against-average. He proved to be a dangerous target on the middle on free-kicks, scoring a pair of goals on the year as well. The Red Devils ranked second in the Centennial Conference in goals-against-average and in shutouts, recording five straight, late in the season.

Mena also returns to the All-Centennial squad, earning Second-team honors last fall. Mena led the Devils and the conference with nine assists, the second highest single season total in school history. He added a team-high seven goals for 23 points on the year. Mena tallied a goal in the Devils' semifinal win over Muhlenberg and recorded the assist on the game-tying goal to force overtime in the Centennial Conference Final.

Mena recorded his first collegiate hat-trick against Washington & Jefferson, scoring three goals and adding an assist. He tallied three assists in a win over Gwynedd-Mercy College this season as well.

Hickok turned in another solid year in the nets for the Red Devils, making his second appearance on the All-CC team. He tied school records for shutouts in a season and in a career with a 2-0 win over Muhlenberg in the semifinal match. Hickok recorded six shutouts on the year, raising his all-time total to 16. He ranked third in the conference in saves and save percentage, stopping 83 shots for a 0.847 percentage.

Hickok currently ranks fifth in school history for goals-against-average in a season at 0.85. He holds the top two season-bests at 0.74 in 2010 and 0.75 as a rookie in 2009. Hickok turned in a pair of strong performances in the conference tournament. He turned away three shots in the shootout with Haverford in the CC Championship.

The Red Devils captured their first Centennial Conference title, earning the program's third NCAA playoff bid. The Red Devils (10-4-5) are scheduled to play Vassar College at Montclair State on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 pm. Dickinson led the conference in goals (40), assists (30) and points (110) this season.
