Red Devils Picked to Three-Peat in Men's Lacrosse
(Lancaster, Pa.) - Defending champion Dickinson is the preseason favorite to win the 2013 Centennial Men's Lacrosse Title, in a poll of conference coaches.
Dickinson earned the top spot with eight first place votes, which is the maximum they could have earned, for a total of 64 points. Washington College (53 points) narrowly edged out Gettysburg (52 points) for 2nd place, while McDaniel (37 points) and Franklin & Marshall (35 points) were also very close in the 4th and 5th place spots.
The Red Devils will be looking for a three-peat, capturing their first title in 2011, and claiming the top spot again last season. The Red Devils handed Washington College an 11-6 decision in Chestertown (Md.), to earn their third consecutive bid the to NCAA Tournament.
Dickinson is ranked eighth in both the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) preseason coaches' poll and Inside Lacrosse, while earning a #10-ranking by Lacrosse Magazine.
