Cannon, Hanley Tab Centennial Player of the Week Honors

(Lancaster, Pa.) - Dickinson College sophomore Brian Cannon (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) and junior goaltender Greg Hanley (Laurel Hollow, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) were named the Centennial Conference Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for their performances in the conference tournament over the weekend.

Cannon tallied four goals and dished out five assists to lead the Red Devils to their second straight Centennial Conference Championship. He accounted for almost half the Devil goals, scoring twice and handing out two assists in the semifinal. He added two goals and three assists in the final to lead the Red Devils past #18-ranked Washington, 11-6.

Hanley was outstanding in the nets. He made 23 saves in the Centennial Conference Tournament and controlled eight ground balls. Hanley stopped 11 shots and controlled four ground balls in Friday's semifinal against #20-ranked Gettysburg. He turned away 12 shots and added four more GBs in the Sunday's championship game.

The Devils kept #18-ranked Washington scoreless throughout the second and third quarters while the man-down unit was perfect on the day, stalling five attempts.

The #11-ranked Red Devils captured their second straight Centennial Conference Championships, earning a third consecutive bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Devils are scheduled to host Kenyon College in the first round of the NCAA playoffs, facing-off at 4:00 pm on Wednesday.
