
(Abbottstown, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's golf team moved up to 13th on Sunday at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic, hosted by McDaniel College at The Bridges Golf Club.
The Red Devils made some huge jumps in their scores from Saturday. Vince Warzecha (Chester Springs. Pa./Malvern Prep) improved from a 94 to shoot a 77 while first-year Tyler Caballero (Lutherville, Md./St, Paul's) carded a 79 to improve 10 strokes.
Senior Ryan Kowash (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) turned in a 79 to cut eight strokes off his first round.
Sophomore Charlie Zane (Guilford, Conn./Hopkins School) added scores of 80 and 81 while first-year Jacob Liberman (Wayne, Pa./Friends' Central) had back-to-back rounds of 90.
McDaniel claimed the team title with a combined score of 306-300-606. St. John Fisher shot a remarkable 296 to finish second, adding a 318 on Saturday for two-day total of 614 to edge Denison and Franklin & Marshall, both with 616.
Dickinson dropped from a 345 to a solid 316 on Sunday to finish with a 662 for the tournament.
The Red Devils are in action again on Monday, traveling to the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational at the Lehigh Country Club.
