(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson senior Justus Melton (Charlotte, N.C./Covenant Day) and sophomore Bryce Allen (Albany, N.Y./The Hill School) were named to the 2018 All-Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Team, announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Melton was a First-team selection, capping a great career with an outstanding senior season. Melton makes his second appearance on the All-CC squad, receiving honorable mention last season.
Melton became the 26th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone and ranks 24th overall with 1,025. Earning a starting role in his sophomore year, he went on to finish with 561 rebounds, 140 assists and 77 steals. He is tied for fifth in blocked shots, turning away 73 in his career.
This season, Melton ranked third in the conference in scoring, and fourth in rebounding, averaging 15.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
Allen was named to the Second-team, following another strong season, running the point for the Red Devils. The sophomore guard ranked in the top 10 in the conference in scoring as well, averaging 14.4 points per game while holding the number three spot in assists, going over the century mark with 101 on the year.
Allen was fourth in the CC in steals with 41, ranking just behind teammate Mike Hinckley (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Episcopal Academy). He had a great year at the free throw line, shooting just under 86 percent from the stripe to rank third in the conference. Dating back to last season, Allen set a school record and was just one shy of the conference mark, hitting 33 consecutive free throws.
Also recognized was senior Chris McNeal (Collegeville, Pa./Episcopal Academy), who was named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.
The Red Devils overcame some injuries to finish the season 15-11 overall and 11-7 in the Centennial Conference. They earned a spot in the conference playoffs for the eighth consecutive season under Head Coach Alan Seretti.
