Red Devils Set to Host NCAA First Round



(Carlisle, Pa.) - The Dickinson men's basketball team earned a first round home game in the 2013 NCAA Division III Tournament. The Red Devils, 20-7 overall, will host Marietta College on Saturday night. The Pioneers enter the game with a record of 20-7 as well.


Adam Honig (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greeley) and Gerry Wixted (Moorestown, N.J./Lawrenceville School) earned Co-Player of the Week honors, leading the Red Devils to the Centennial Conference Championship on Saturday night. Both players recorded double-doubles in the semifinal win over Johns Hopkins, and in the 64-40 victory over Franklin & Marshall in the Championship.


Marietta won the Ohio Athletic Conference to punch its ticket to the dance. They defeated Wilmington College in a high-scoring overtime thriller, winning 111-106 in the semifinals. They outlasted the University of Mount Union, 80-72, in overtime to claim the title. 


NCAA Tournament first round ticket prices are $6 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and students. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Saturday night.
