(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's basketball team used another strong start to post another Centennial Conference win on Saturday, and this time the Red Devils never let up for the entire game. The Devils stormed out to a 41-27 lead at halftime en route to an 81-46 win over Washington College. The win keeps Dickinson in a first place tie with Franklin & Marshall in the conference standings at 11-3.

Similar to Thursday night, Dickinson came out running, scoring the first seven points of the game. A three-pointer from senior Logan Furr (Sharon, Mass./Beaver Country Day) and a steal and lay-up by first-year Ted Hinnenkamp (York, Pa./York Suburban) stretched the lead to 24-9, with 11:56 remaining in the half.

The Devils led by as many as 17 in the first half, and took a 41-27 advantage into halftime. Unlike Thursday, Dickinson came out and continued exactly where they left off in the first half, stretching the margin to 20 points in the opening five minutes of the second.

Sophomore Chris Cox (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West) ignited the crowd with a signature dunk, talking off somewhere near Harrisburg, to put the Devils in front by 30 with 8:53 remaining in the game.

Dickinson continued to roll, stretching the lead to as many as 42 in the final minutes. The Red Devil bench came on strong at the end, not missing a beat as the Devils improve to 16-5 on the season.

Four players reached double-figures to lead the Red Devils. Steve Collins (Rydal, Pa./LaSalle College) was dominant inside, scoring a game-high 15 points and controlling six rebounds. Sophomore Gerry Wixted (Moorestown, N.J./Lawrenceville School) added 12 points and four rebounds, going 6-for-6 from the foul line.

Hinnenkamp scored 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting, adding three steals while senior Vince White (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) scored 10 points, hitting 4-of-5 shots from the field and 2-of-3 from the line. Cox finished with eight points and seven rebounds as well, in a total team effort.

Sean Brooks led Washington (2-19, 2-12) with 11 points while Dave Knox and Charlie McShane each scored eight on the day.

The Red Devils improve to 16-5 overall and 11-3 in the CC. They travel to Muhlenberg College for a 7:30 tip-off on Wednesday night.
