Honig Named Centennial Conference Player of the Week

(Lancaster, Pa.) - Dickinson junior guard Adam Honig (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greeley) was named the Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance in a pair of key Red Devil wins.

 

Honig led the Red Devils to a 2-0 week, knocking-off conference front-runner Franklin & Marshall, and posting a road win at Ursinus to move into a first place tie in the league standings.

 

Honig averaged 20.5 points per game, shooting 58 percent from both the floor (15-26) and the three-point line, hitting 7-of-12 attempts from long range. He went 4-for-5 from the line, adding 10 assists and committing no turnovers for the week. Hoing scored 21 points, going 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and 4-for-5 from the foul line, adding five rebounds and five assists in the win over F&M.

 

As a team the Red Devils hit 15-of-16 free throws at Ursinus and shot 91 percent for the week, converting 40-of-44 attempts in two games.

 

The Red Devils improved to 14-5 overall and 9-3 in the conference. They are scheduled to host McDaniel College on Thursday night with the opening tip-off scheduled for 8:00 pm.
