(Collegeville, Pa.) – The Dickinson field hockey team had a tough outing at #20-ranked Ursinus College, falling 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Bears struck twice in each half as they improved to 4-0 in the Centennial Conference.
Erin Saybolt capitalized on a penalty corner to score off an assist from Gabriella Howell in the 23rd minute. The Bears doubled the lead juts before halftime as Devon Carroll scored with just 30 seconds to play in the first half.
Ursinus forced an early corner and Carroll tallied just a minute into the second half with an assist from Saybolt for a 3-0 advantage. Carroll returned the favor on another corner with just under 24 minutes to play as Saybolt tallied her second of the game.
The Bears held a 10-5 advantage in shots and a 9-4 edge in corners as Jules Singer and Addie Frey each made two saves for Ursinus.
Junior Heather Meeder (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) made three saves.
The Red Devils slip to 2-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference. They return home to face Johns Hopkins University on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 pm.
