Terror Take Down Devils in Overtime, 1-0
(Westminster, Md.) – The Dickinson College field hockey team dropped a heartbreaker on Wednesday night, falling in overtime at McDaniel College, 1-0.
Sophomore goaltender Ioni Kokdis (Jefferson, N.J./Pope John XXIII) made eight saves in her first start, keeping the Green Terror off the board throughout regulation.
Kokdis blocked the initial shot but could not stop the second, off the rebound, as Kathryn Corson tallied the game-winner 1:15 into the first overtime.
McDaniel held a 16-6 advantage in shots for the game, putting nine on goal. The Green Terror also had the edge in penalty corners, 9-7.
Stephanie Thomson made five saves for the Green Terror as they improve to 4-7 overall and 2-3 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils (2-10, 1-4) travel to Bryn Mawr on Saturday to face the Owls at 12:00 pm.
