(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson sophomore James Turner (Ridgefield, Conn./Suffield Academy) was named the Centennial Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week, following a remarkable performance in the season finale against Ursinus.
Recording double-digit tackles in seven games this season, he anchored an outstanding effort to send the seniors off on a high note with a 40-17 win on Saturday.
Turner recorded 12 tackles for the fourth straight game, making eight solo stops. He tallied a pair of tackles-for-loss, including a huge sack for a loss of seven yards. The Red Devils held the Bears scoreless and allowed just 14 yards of total offense in the second half, and only four in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Turner finished the year with 113 tackles, leading the Centennial Conference and ranking fourth on the program single season list.
