Craig to Play in Metrodome All-American Bowl

 

(Minneapolis, Minn.) - Dickinson College senior Gordon Craig (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) has been selected to participate in the 2010 Metrodome All-American Bowl on Saturday, December 18th. Despite weather problems over the weekend, the committee is confident that the games will be played this weekend. If the Metrodome is unable to host the event, it will be moved to an alternate venue.

 

There are two games consisting of Division II and Division III players, as well as a select number of free agents. Following a Junior College game at 11:00 am, there will be DII/DIII games at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm.

 

Craig also competed in the D3 North/South Senior Classic on December 3rd. Craig's South team suffered a heartbreaker, falling 26-18 as the North rallied from behind in the final six seconds. Trailing 18-17, the North team kicked a field-goal to put them in front 20-18. They intercepted a lateral on the ensuing kick-off return and scampered into the end zone for the final of 26-18.

 

Craig earned his second selection to the All-Centennial Conference team this fall, earning honorable mention. Craig set a school record for points scored by a kicker with 221 in his career. He ranks second all-time in kick scoring in the conference and second in overall points scored at Dickinson. Craig also broke school records with 116 career extra-points and 35 field-goals. He set single season records with 37 extra-points in 2009 and 10 field-goals in 2008. He added a school record with seven consecutive extra-points in a win in his hometown of Grove City in 2009. He was named a D3Proday.com Second-team All-American as well this season.
