(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson baseball team dropped a Centennial Conference double-header to visiting Haverford College as the 'Fords claimed 9-4 and 9-3 wins on Saturday at MacPhail Field.
Jacobson drove in Carter again in the eighth and Jonathan Chudacoff (Highland Park, Ill./Berkshire School) hit into an error that pushed across Brendan Pell (Delran, N.J./Penn Charter) and Jacobson to cut the deficit to 6-4.
The 'Fords capitalized on an error in the ninth to plate three insurance runs for the final of 9-4. Senior Billy O'Neil (Deerfield, Mass./Deerfield) earned the start, taking the loss in the opener despite allowing just five earned runs over eight innings.
Spencer Sohmer and Ben Furlong each drove in two runs in the second inning of game two as Haverford took a 9-0 lead into the middle of the third. Chris Delsandro (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) doubled in the bottom half of the inning and came in to score after three straight walks and an RBI for Pell.
Chudacoff doubled and Carter tripled to score a run in the fourth and Delsandro scored to give Jacobson another RBI in the seventh for the final of 9-3.
Carter went 2-for-5 with an RBI while Delsandro scored twice and Robbie Thompson (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) drew a pair of walks.
